MRP wins for Braun at The New York Festivals Print Advertising Competition

Stamford, Connecticut — Marquardt & Roche and Partners was recognized for its print advertising work promoting The Gillette Company's Braun products at The New York Festivals 2002 International Print & Radio Advertising Awards.

This year the 44-year-old creative competition attracted entries from 59 countries. Creative directors, art directors and copywriters in cities across the U.S. and overseas judged the work of winning agencies located on five continents.

MRP's award was for a four color print advertisement alerting retailers of the exceptional performance characteristics and beauty of the many new products recently introduced by Braun. A simple two-word headline ran under an elegant photograph of several of the products: Performance art.

Other agencies receiving awards in the "Magazine & Newspaper: Trade" category included McCann Erickson for Microsoft Office, Bates for Yahoo! Canada, and Young & Rubicam for Colgate Dental Floss.

Marquardt & Roche and Partners president Howard Meditz commented, "We were up against the biggest agencies in the world. The best agencies in the world. We were scared, but we figured, if we can't beat them with brains, we'll beat them with Braun." Meditz sometimes amuses himself by giving voice to obvious puns others would have the good sense to keep to themselves.
