MRP
wins Mobius Awards for both Consumer and Trade Advertising
Stamford, Connecticut -- Marquardt & Roche and Partners
won two awards for print advertising in the 31st International
Mobius Advertising Awards competition. This year 35 countries
submitted over 6000 entries into the competition with 20 countries
listed among the winners.
MRP was honored for its print work for White Rain Shampoo
in the hotly contested "Women's cosmetics, makeup, hair care and
perfume" segment of the Personal Products category of the competition.
MRP's headline, "Rain on me" ran under the tranquil image of a
woman bathing at a waterfall. Its brief copy: "White Rain shampoos,
conditioners and styling products. Beautiful hair, pure and simple."
The ad was part of a campaign created by the agency to re-launch
the 50-plus year old brand on behalf of its new owner, The White
Rain Company.
The agency was also recognized for its print advertising for
FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA. The Mobius Awards only offers
a few categories for trade advertising, one of which is the broad
"Industrial" category. Fuji's ad promoted its new "SmartCR" Computed
Radiography equipment, which now makes it practical to put sophisticated
digital X-ray equipment anywhere. The quirky ad features a photograph
of dozens of, well . . . chickens in pots of water. The headline
reads, "And a CR system in every room." Although this is perhaps
not as attractive an image as the agency's photograph of the bathing
woman described above, the ad is nonetheless a rare example of
a Herbert Hoover campaign promise run amuck.
Marquardt & Roche and Partners is a full service advertising
agency based in Stamford, Connecticut.
