MRP Scores for Gillette at the Business Marketing Association's Pro-Comm Advertising Awards

Stamford, Connecticut -- Marquardt & Roche and Partners won two awards for The Gillette Company in the 2000 Pro-Comm creative awards sponsored by the Business Marketing Association. The awards were in both four-color and black and white print advertising categories in this year's international competition.

Gillette's Duracell Activair hearing aid batteries received an Award of Excellence in the four-color category for an ad promoting the long lasting performance and reliability of the brand. The headline: "They do run, run, run. They do run, run."

The Best of Division winner in the black and white category was a corporate ad for Gillette congratulating Walgreens on its 100th anniversary. The agency, noting that Gillette was also celebrating its own 100th anniversary, penned the line "Every now and then an idea comes along that stands the test of time. In 1901, there were two." The headline appeared under a vintage photograph of a Gillette razor and blade.

The awards mark the eighth consecutive year that MRP has been recognized for creative excellence by the business-to-business marketing community's most prestigious creative competition. Over that period of time no agency in the region has won more awards.
